Starting a PADI Open Water Course with Ocean Divers in 1984, Jane‚s love of diving eventually turned into a career and qualifications grew until she became a PADI Course Director ‐ one of only 2 in Australia at that time.
A qualified Coxswain and captain of 2 charter boats over the years, Jane drove for other charter boat operators and at the Commonwealth games in Melbourne.
Even after 32 years in the dive industry there is still that “What‚s coming next or where can we go diving?” attitude. Still diving during the week and weekends, there is rarely an opportunity missed to be underwater.
Another love is cave diving and Jane became the first female Standards Director of the Cave Divers Association of Australia and a CDAA Advanced Cave Examiner. Over the years she‚s been cave diving in PNG, Thailand, Philippines, Vanuatu, Mexico, Florida, Mt Gambier and the Nullarbor.
Jane is a member of DIVA, the Diving Industry of Victoria Association, (president for six years) and an inducted member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame.
